Council approves technical memo to update 2021 Water PER after connections exceed 2041 projections
Summary
City Engineer Elly Goebel told the council that the 2021 Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) planning projections through 2041 have been exceeded (1,536 connections) and the city authorized Morrison-Maierle to produce a technical memo that will allow the City to re-evaluate connection counts and issue will-serve letters for new services.

Elly Goebel explained the City's 2021 Water Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) is outdated: the projections for water and sewer connections through 2041 have already been exceeded (1,536 connections). To continue issuing will-serve letters for new water and sewer connections, Goebel said the City needs an updated planning section.
The Council approved a motion by Drew Dawson, seconded by Mike Taylor, authorizing Morrison-Maierle to produce a technical memo that will reassess connection counts and update the planning assumptions in the PER. The memo is intended to support issuance of will-serve letters and clarify how many additional connections the system can accept under current planning assumptions.
