Applicant Aked Hamoud told the board he planned New York–style daily and hot foods, sandwiches and halal offerings. "I'm doing, like, New York style daily food, hot food, cold food, salad, smoothies, coffees," he said, describing the menu and service model. He also said that in some New York locations operations were 24/7 but acknowledged that local council and business-registration processes determine final hours.
Neighbors and staff raised concerns about a proposed large LED sign’s brightness facing residential units and about trash handling. Planning staff recommended the applicant enclose the dumpster and provide final refrigeration and fire-flow drawings. The board moved and seconded a motion to approve the site plan with the dumpster corral stipulation and additional technical submittals required before building permits are issued.
