Commissioners questioned a proposed 1.0 FTE for a public health research and data analyst included in the staffing requests and tied it to an earlier board directive about turnaround time for well and septic permits. Patrick said the position would help process permits and that public health had previously fallen short of the board’s target turnaround time for those permits.
"It was down to, like, 7 or 8 days," Joe said referencing a dashboard he recalled that showed improved permit turnaround. Commissioners asked staff to provide the current dashboard and data showing how many permits fall outside the board’s target. Patrick said staff would follow up with the requested information and that the health department had noted seasonal variation in permit demand.
