Chair (speaker 2) showed the newly uploaded heritage-site pages on the city website and reported that the National Register nomination was submitted to the National Park Service. "So right now, it is at the National Park Service," she said, adding "They have 45 days" to act and that "we should know by September."
She noted the state commission requested additional photos (including one of an annex to the old city hall and photos from inside the old jail) and that she was able to obtain the requested images and turn them in on the August 13 deadline. Commissioners welcomed the progress and asked staff to circulate the NPS timeline to the group.
