The volunteer said the club envisions “$1,000 this year and $1,000 next year” primarily for rhododendrons and azaleas and smaller supporting plantings. Several members suggested the cleanest approach would be for the club or its donors to pay nurseries directly so the Parks Board would not have to disburse funds.
The volunteer asked staff to follow up with David (treasurer for the Garden Club) and bring a planting plan and vendor options to a future meeting. The board did not take a formal vote on a funding transfer at this meeting and directed volunteers and staff to refine a procurement or donation path before money changes hands.
