Council approves $63,295.65 pay application and a $59,134.11 deduction plus 63‑day extension for well-building work

City Engineer Elly Goebel briefed the council on progress under Phase 1, Schedule A of the water system improvements. Goebel said progress at the well buildings justified Pay Application #7 from Karnath Contracting and the council approved the payment.
Drew Dawson moved to approve Pay Application #7 in the amount of $63,295.65; Mike Taylor seconded and the motion carried with four aye votes as recorded in the minutes.
Goebel also reported that Karnath Contracting requested Change Order #1 that would deduct $59,134.11 from the contract and add 63 days to the project schedule for the well pump houses. "A change order was necessary since Karnath Contracting would require a deduction of $59,134.11 and an extension of 63 days on the project at the well pump houses," Goebel said. The council approved the change order on a motion by Dawson, seconded by Taylor, carried with four aye votes.
