Council reviewed proposed opening dates — June 13 through Aug. 22 — and a rate schedule read into the record. The packet listed daily and season-pass prices and included increases for youth and adult categories. The council approved the rates by voice vote.
During discussion, a council member noted the borough intentionally kept rates affordable to avoid a residents-only policy and cited a history of maintaining lower rates than comparable community pools. Officials said the pool capacity is set at 1,000 (down from a technical capacity of 2,500), with increased lifeguard staffing and scheduled police rounds. The borough will reimburse up to $300 for lifeguard certification or recertification for staff who work through the season.
"Children under 3 would still be free," a council representative said when reading the rate structure. The motion to approve the rates was made by Tom Reager and seconded by Matthew; the motion carried on a voice vote.
