During the public-comment portion of the Jan. 20 meeting resident Richard Wagon asked whether the borough had reviewed contract insurance and liability for the Greenlight Energy proposal and whether the $350 monthly fee would cover potential costs. He also pressed for clarity on whether Greenlight or the borough would provide backup generators or air conditioning equipment mentioned in Greenlight’s presentation.
On enforcement, Wagon urged that residents receive a warning before a quality-of-life ticket is issued, saying a door knock or notice would be more effective than relying on social media or email. “I had originally asked for that because it would have kept us out of the situation,” the resident said, arguing that a notification step could prevent fines and better ensure compliance.
