Hellertown Borough Council approved several certified contractor pay applications during its Jan. 20 meeting. The council moved and carried payments after staff confirmed the work had been completed and engineering firms certified the invoices; motions covered Corcon ($39,208.83) for the Dewey Fire project, pay application 2 for Dewey Fire Parking Lot stormwater, Grace Industries for Reinhardt Park work, and Cobalt Construction pay application number 7 ($35,298.10) for Dimock Park basketball court and soil greening retainage.
Council members emphasized the engineering firm’s certification before authorizing payment. “It’s been done. It’s been certified, by our engineering firm,” a staff representative said during the motion discussion. The council approved the payments by voice vote and directed staff to continue standard punch-list and inspection procedures for outstanding items like the safety surface at Gregory Park.
