Students present Period Club; board declares March Women’s History Month

Student members of a Period Club described product drives and stigma-reduction work; the board adopted a Women’s History Month resolution recognizing contributions of women and encouraging instructional activities.
Students from Lakeridge High School’s Period Club told the board their chapter focuses on menstrual equity, informational meetings and product drives that supply period kits for community members.
"Our main goal is to kinda promote menstrual equity and basically educate people on, and basically the inequity that The United States faces," said a club member, describing drives and volunteer efforts. The students said they have engaged male peers and hold information sessions to reduce stigma.
Following the presentation, Director (Speaker 10) moved to adopt the Women’s History Month resolution honoring women’s contributions; Speaker 9 seconded and the board voted to adopt the resolution recognizing March as Women’s History Month and encouraging schools to infuse instruction about women throughout the year.
