Waterville council approves fire-hall change orders; attorney reports purchase agreements for fire hall and old police building

Administrator Teresa Hill reviewed four change orders for the Fire Hall project: an increase of $905 to Tim’s Trucking for four‑striping in the apparatus bay; Met‑Con increases of $6,826.03 to reinstate a county access approach and $1,046.22 for concrete pads to mount electrical equipment; a $1,552.00 deduct from Superior Mechanical for removal of a 2.5-inch overhead cold‑water line; and a $819 deduction related to a linear panel above overhead doors. Council approved the change orders by motion.
City Attorney Jason Moran said fully executed purchase agreements are in place for the Fire Hall at $325,000 and the old police department building at $180,000; title searches are underway with anticipated closings on or before March 2, contingent on the absence of title issues. Councilmember Tim Smith commented of the project: "I think they are doing a good job for us down there. We are watching the dollars and cents."
