Council approves job reclassification and boiler‑license pay for Public Works

Administrator Teresa Hill proposed upgrading employee Steve Anderson to Public Works Level Two status and extending boiler‑license pay to all staff holding boiler operator licenses. Hill said the recommendation intends to distribute responsibilities and to keep more than one licensed operator available on a rotating schedule.
"Right now, the City has two individuals who currently have a boiler license to be able to operate. They are going to be on a weekly rotational schedule," Administrator Hill said, and she named Steve Anderson as the primary Boiler Operator going forward. The motion by Wollin, seconded by Smith, to approve the classification change and license pay carried 5-0.
Council and staff discussed training pathways for additional staff to obtain provisional licenses; the council directed staff to implement the rotation and return with any necessary administrative updates.
