On Nov. 4 the Waterville City Council approved a resolution to write off specified uncollectible debt after the city attorney advised that collection through courts would likely cost more than recoverable amounts.
City Attorney Jason Moran explained the challenges and said attempting litigation or further collection “would not be worth the cost to attempt this through the court systems, this will most likely cost more than the amount to be collected.” Council adopted Resolution 2025R-037 by unanimous vote.
