Los Lunas adopts $252.7 million FY2027 final budget, with funds for water, parks and I-25 interchange projects

Finance Director Cheryl Cates presented Resolution 26-14, the Fiscal Year 2027 Final Budget for the Village of Los Lunas, reporting projected revenues of $252,747,853 and projected expenditures of $210,622,934. Cates said the budget reflected updated revenue projections, carryover capital projects for water and sewer, administration building and MBR cassette improvements, and continued funding for park projects including Los Cerritos Park and River Park.
Councilors questioned the status and timelines for several capital projects. Staff reported that work on Los Cerritos Park had begun and was expected to take approximately three to six months, while River Park improvements would proceed as funding and project timelines allow; the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District approved trail improvements but requested some work be delayed until after irrigation season. Council approved Resolution 26-14 on a 4-0 vote (moved Councilor Romero; seconded Councilor Ortiz).
