Staff presented progress on three projects the commission will oversee or advise on. For Southwest Park, the council approved a design engineering consulting agreement selecting Gonzales companies; staff said they plan to bundle a trail and stormwater work to create efficiencies. For 755 Eunice Avenue, staff said EDM, Incorporated will begin surveying and design work to define drainage boundaries and maintenance responsibilities.
Staff also outlined a Glendale Avenue study and a planned OMCI (operations, maintenance, construction improvement) application to MSD to expand inlet capacity upstream of Edgar Road; if MSD approves the OMCI funds the city will select a design consultant and move to execution. Commissioners discussed combining small, geographically related projects to reduce per-project engineering cost and prioritization overhead.
