Council approves sale agreements for former Fire Hall and Police Station

Administrator Teresa Hill told Council the Fire Hall (110 N 1st St.) received a single proposal: asking/appraised value listed as $311,000 and a purchase offer of $325,000 with 10% down. Council approved Resolution 2025R-043 to enter into the $325,000 purchase agreement.
On the former Police Station (114 Hoosac St. W.), Administrator Hill reported multiple offers with the top bid of $180,000 (asking/appraised $171,000). Council approved Resolution 2025R-044 to accept the $180,000 offer to Next Gen Home Services; Hill stated for the record the sale to Next Gen Home Services with a purchase price of $180,000 and an appraised value of $171,000. Council members discussed interest from local businesses in repurposing properties and indicated a desire to explore Economic Development Authority options for other city-owned properties.
Motions to approve both transactions carried 5-0.
