Council reviews $155,000 street program, franchise fee revenue pending

Administrator Teresa Hill told the council the city plans about $155,000 in street projects for 2026, with $68,000 budgeted from Street Maintenance Aid and $28,000 from County contributions. She said $59,000 of that work would be charged to the capital (400) fund.
Hill also noted anticipated franchise-fee revenue from CenterPoint and Metronet that would add to street-related revenue when the payments begin; she said the CenterPoint franchise process can take about three months after submission before the city sees payments.
