Waterville OKs purchase of kitchen, solar array; city expects lease revenue from Lutheran Social Services

The Waterville City Council adopted Resolution 2025R-028 on Sept. 11, authorizing acquisition of tangible personal property tied to the Village sale, including a commercial kitchen and a solar array. "This property being: a commercial kitchen for the meals on wheels program which will be in a revenue generating lease with Lutheran Social Services generating an income of $1,500.00 to $1,600.00 a month, and the solar array system which will also generate additional income," City Attorney Jason Moran said.
Moran added that there will be no prepayment penalty and that any prepayment would be applied to the purchase price; he also said there are no incurred bonding costs. Council member Jennifer Grobe asked whether agreements would address repairs before purchase; Administrator Teresa Hill said planned fixes include siding, window replacement, roofing and fire sprinkler updates, and that short-term updates (security, phone, internet) are being considered now. The motion by Dave Wollin, seconded by Jennifer Grobe, carried 4-0.
