Staff and the superintendent pointed to the 2025 bond as a central capital resource: "$245,000,000 investment is a powerful signal of the trust this community has in our education system," Dr. Shealy said. District staff said proceeds will fund replacement of Forest Hills and Lake Grove elementary schools, districtwide safety and security upgrades and expansion of STEM and career‑technical education spaces.
Stuart noted the increase in capital appropriations on the district’s multi‑fund summary is driven exclusively by the bond sale and that Forest Hills will be the first signature project. The district expects to sell the bond soon and will report expected debt‑service levy impacts as they finalize the sale; staff projected a $2.90 debt‑service levy estimate used in planning but said the final tax rate will be determined this fall when county assessed‑value data are available.
