Senior Economic Developer Victoria Archuleta and Better City CEO Jason Godfrey presented Phase II of the Village of Los Lunas Economic Development Strategic Plan, describing target industries, business retention and expansion strategies, workforce initiatives, and an implementation framework that includes a customer relationship management (CRM) system and an economic development dashboard.
Archuleta said the plan is the Village’s first comprehensive economic development strategy and is intended to guide business retention, attraction, expansion and workforce development over the next five to ten years, complementing the Village’s Comprehensive Plan. Presenters recommended participation in state, national and international trade shows for targeted recruitment and emphasized measurable goals and quarterly performance reporting to the Council.
Council members emphasized balancing growth with infrastructure and preserving community character. Councilor James Runyon moved to approve Phase II for consideration of adoption; Councilor Christopher Ortiz seconded and the motion carried 4–0.
The plan's adoption directs staff to implement the plan’s CRM and reporting tools and to return quarterly updates to the Council as performance metrics are developed.
