City approves Policies 360 subscription; officer training and equipment grants noted

City Administrator Rian Hofstad told the council the Police Department had 17 calls for service in June and that Officer Stephanie Robak began field training and will complete precision driving training soon. The department received a $2,000 Sourcewell Boost Grant to update rifle flashlights and magnifiers and has started a community policing initiative called "Freezie Patrols."
Hofstad asked the council to approve Officer Robak attending a School Resource Officer course in Mankato on July 13–17, 2026; the training is free but travel costs were estimated at $210 for mileage and $330 for hotel. Council approved paying the mileage and hotel costs. Hofstad also requested purchase of a two-year Policies 360 subscription for $6,300 in year one and $4,725 in year two to be paid from the squad car fund; the council approved that purchase unanimously.
Hofstad added the city had canceled the Flock camera trial until the city can coordinate with Morrison County. The minutes do not record further operational detail about the grant items or the scope of "Freezie Patrols."
