Larson warns Highway 42 bridge work could disrupt routes; board urged patience

Superintendent Larson told the board ongoing and upcoming road projects are already affecting bus routing and could continue to do so when the Highway 42 Bridge project moves into construction.
Larson said the Highway 42 Bridge bid is expected late in the year (October–December) and that reports indicate the project could require a two-year closure, which would have consequences for traffic flow and school transportation. "We anticipate seeing that bid here late, late this year, October to December, and then that'll be a 2 year closure is what has been reported," he said, and urged drivers to slow down in work zones while staff manage route adjustments.
