The Wayne County Commissioners approved multiple personnel actions, including a termination, a resignation, a retirement, several hires and one promotion.
The board voted unanimously to terminate 9-1-1 Dispatcher Gabrielle Shepard effective April 15, 2026; to accept the resignation of Sheriff’s Deputy Alyssa Jennings effective April 30, 2026; and to accept the retirement of Anna Steeleman, Nursing Supervisor at the county correctional facility, effective June 19, 2026. Commissioner Smith offered congratulations and thanks to Steeleman for her service.
The commissioners also approved hiring Randy Heller and Lynn Johannes as part-time seasonal Bureau of Elections assistants, both effective May 1, 2026; hired Kenneth Hunter as a Data Collector in Tax Assessment effective April 20, 2026; and promoted Lydia VanGorder from Clerk 2 to Clerk 3 in the Prothonotary’s Office effective April 27, 2026. All motions were recorded as unanimous.
