Council reviewed Resolution 2025-012-001 to clarify language in the existing Carnegie Library contract. Staff said the previous $10,000 reference did not explicitly state whether utilities were included; the resolution clarifies that utilities (electric, water and Wi‑Fi) count toward that $10,000 and that any additional funding beyond utilities will be determined annually based on available revenues.
"The contract states that we will provide up to $10,000, but it does not clarify that the utilities are a part of that," a council member said during discussion. Library representatives described accreditation benefits, summer-program support and the importance of local donor support; the council then approved the resolution and a $5,000 expenditure for the library in FY2026. Staff said they will retain the 2019–2029 agreement language while clarifying the utilities clause.
