Council hears plan: school to help fund dredging of retention pond, city to secure easement

Staff said the pond has not been cleaned since the early 1990s and has lost about half its depth, which contributes to water loss.
Council members supported moving forward with easement discussions and limited staff labor (one operator and a loader were noted as sufficient). No formal contract award or funding appropriation was recorded in this meeting; the school’s cost-sharing arrangement and an offer of donated labor were described as the basis for proceeding.
