Lorain County approved two airport-related change orders and authorized a participation agreement tied to national opioid litigation on June 30. Change Order #1 added 3.5" unfaced fiberglass insulation and a thermal barrier for the main hangar roof at a not‑to‑exceed cost of $61,755 (Res. 26-380). The board also approved Change Order No. 6 to Erie Blacktop for the Runway 7‑25 Rehabilitation & Lighting project, which decreased contract costs by $262,553.11 and extended the project completion date to Dec. 31, 2025 (Res. 26-381).
The board also authorized the president to execute a participation agreement with Discount Drug Mart as part of the county's involvement in ongoing national opioid litigation (Res. 26-372). Saunders described the action as part of ongoing settlements that will funnel funds into a designated opioid account for local remediation programs. All actions passed with the required majority.
