Staff told the council that Albemarle County Service Authority's senior civil engineer, John Anderson, will come to the next meeting to present the Scottsville-phase water-main replacement project as bids open for the work.
"It's called Scottsville phase for a water main replacement project," a staff member said, noting the anticipated pipe route: down Irish Road, Valley Street and up West Main. Council was told bidding is underway and that the authority has identified and repaired a separate leak at Page and West Main, which had been responsible for substantial daily water loss.
Members discussed disruptions the project will cause in town and asked to coordinate scheduling with local businesses and to request the service authority to bring schematic materials and a thumb drive with project details to the next meeting.
