Board dismisses jurisdictional claims, limits relief in Morris v. Citizens for Chris Metcalfe

Chair Donahue read staff recommendations that a portion of the complaint be dismissed for lack of jurisdiction under section 9-25.0.1 and that several other counts were not filed on justifiable grounds, with the exceptions of two subsections (9-11(a)(4) and 9-11(a)(16)) which staff found had been filed on justifiable grounds. ‘‘There is no further relief to be given in this matter,’’ the staff summary stated during the discussion.
A motion to adopt staff's recommendation was moved and seconded. The board approved the motion by roll call; the transcript records one abstention (Miss Watson) and a majority of affirmative votes, and the chair announced the motion passed.
The board's action resolves the specified counts and records limited exceptions where staff found the filings appropriate.
