Board approves Vireo to create master plan for Duncan–Dillingham park property

The Board of Aldermen voted 6-0 to approve Resolution R26-33, authorizing the City Administrator to enter into an agreement with Vireo LLC to create a master plan for the city-owned parcel at the northeast corner of Duncan and Dillingham Roads. Alderman Brian Bray, who moved the measure, said the property was purchased for a future park and the master plan will determine which amenities will best fit the site.
Parks & Recreation Director Shannon Davies told the board that community forums and online surveys are included in the proposed planning process and will guide decisions about amenities citizens have requested—walkability improvements, trails and additional courts were identified in prior planning work. Davies noted parks planning has prioritized trails and that the process for this site will reflect resident input before final designs or construction decisions are made.
