Tiburon amends fee schedule to match California limits for solar permits

The Tiburon Town Council adopted a resolution amending the community development fee schedule so local photovoltaic permit fees match state maximums established by recent legislation. Community Development Director Sherry Mead told the council the amendment aligns Tiburon's fee schedule with Assembly Bill 1124 and the state government code provision cited in the staff report.
Mead said the town already charges the residential base fee that matches the state maximum ($450) but that the fee schedule text needed updating to avoid inconsistency; the only projected revenue change would come from very large commercial systems (over 250 kilowatts), which the town has not received in applications. "Assembly Bill 1124 updated California government code section 66015 to establish maximum permit fees that jurisdictions can charge for solar systems," Mead said while introducing the item.
Council voted to adopt the fee-schedule amendment by roll call; staff said the change clarifies permit processing and brings Tiburon into compliance with state law.
