"We are asking for approval for a 60 day trial for Axon using their LPR cameras," Whitmire said, explaining that using a single vendor could reduce the number of logins staff must manage. A board member moved to approve the trial and authorized Captain Travis Snyder to sign on behalf of the city; the motion passed by unanimous vote.
The board record does not specify the trial deployment locations or detailed data‑retention practices; the department said the trial would let staff "work through their LPR program and their systems." Staff will provide further operational details if the pilot proceeds to implementation.
