The Jackson County Board of Supervisors approved routine finance and clerk items on Oct. 7, including authorization for the auditor's office to issue warrants on a claims listing totaling $299,039.16. The auditor noted the claims listing includes a $130,000 skid‑loader purchase and rock purchases, which represent a substantial portion of the total.
The board also voted to accept and place on file the county recorder's reported fees for September 2025 in the amount of $48,946.23. In addition, supervisors approved three retail alcohol license renewals: Iowa Grapevine Winery LLC (special class C native wine license with outdoor service, effective 11/15/2025–11/14/2026), a five‑day special class C retail alcohol license for Saint Patrick Church (Oct. 23–27, 2025), and Alfred's Bar and Grill at Leisure Lake LLC (class C retail license, 11/16/2025–11/15/2026).
"I need a motion to approve and authorize the auditor's office to issue warrants in the publication of the claims listing in the amount of $299,039.16," the auditor said; the board moved and approved the item by voice vote. The board also approved the minutes of Sept. 30, 2025, for publication as presented.
Next steps: the auditor will issue warrants as authorized and staff will process license renewals and publish the minutes and claims listing as required by county procedures.
