The Commission of Correction voted Aug. 27 to approve a police department’s request for a variance from requirement 7504.1(e), granting relief through Jan. 1, 2026 with nine stipulated conditions. Rick Salady, identified in the meeting as the supervisor, presented the request and told commissioners staff recommended the approval.
"Police department is requesting new variance for relief from requirements of 75 0 4.1 e to the staffing issue," Salady said, noting the recommendation to approve until Jan. 1, 2026 with nine stipulations. The chair called for a motion; a member moved, another seconded, and the item passed on a voice vote of "Aye."
