Boys & Girls Club, Alcorn State and local volunteers brief supervisors on fall youth programs and training mission bid

Rhonda Page of the Boys & Girls Club told supervisors the summer program had strong participation and that the group will begin an after-school program on Aug. 12 at Morgantown Elementary's gym extension. "On most days, we had up to 85 kids," she said, and thanked the board for the county's support.
Dr. Deshaun Brush of Alcorn State University asked the board for a letter of support for an Innovative Readiness Training application to the Delta Regional Authority. He said the program would bring military medical and dental personnel to provide free services to the community if the application succeeds. The board agreed to provide a letter of support and asked staff to draft transmittal language for the application package.
