Southlake has no primary this year as mayor and council filings leave contests uncontested

Maris Porter, presenter for Southlake City, said candidate declaration for the 2025 municipal election has closed. "There's only 1 candidate for mayor, yours truly, and 2 candidates for the 2 council spots," Porter said, and added that because of those filings the city will not hold a primary.
Porter explained that residents in other jurisdictions may still receive ballots for primaries, but Southlake’s races are decided by the number of candidates who filed. She congratulated the winners of local contests and further noted there will be no primary election for Southlake this year.
