Resident urges curb paint at blind corner, suggests flagpole at South Ogden entrance

A long-time South Ogden resident used the public-comment period on Aug. 19 to press the council for two local changes: a safety fix at a blind corner and a flagpole at the southern city entrance.
Kathy Palmer told the council she has lived in South Ogden for 70 years and described a safety concern: "There's a corner there, and our neighbor likes to park his truck and trailer ... he pulls up so far that it's a blind curve for me trying to go either around the corner or straight into my driveway." She gave a precise location: "It's at 5800 South 1400 East." Palmer said children play in the neighborhood and asked the city to consider painting the curb red or otherwise evaluating the turn.
Palmer also suggested adding a flagpole and American flag at the intersection where Highway 89 and Harrison Boulevard meet, noting that the sign has been there about 20 years and that a visible flag would be welcoming to people entering the city. The mayor responded that staff would send people to evaluate the intersection and that the council would "talk about the flagpole."
