Maris Porter, presenter for Southlake City, said 40th Street is closed at Irvado Road and Washington Boulevard for a water-line replacement and acknowledged the inconvenience to motorists. "The contractor is telling us that if all goes as it has been, it'll be done in 5 or 6 more weeks," Porter said.
Porter suggested drivers use 36th or 37th Street or cut through the terrace as alternate routes while work continues. The presenter noted that Utah’s short paving season concentrates many projects into the same summer window, increasing concurrent traffic impacts.
