LPC approves three preservation applications: two rear-yard additions and a window replacement

The Landmarks Preservation Commission approved three preservation applications during the March 10 morning session.
At 364 Claremont Avenue (Fort Greene Historic District) the Commission found a proposed 3‑story rear‑yard addition appropriate in scale and materials, noting the addition will not be visible from public thoroughfares and will be consistent with existing block additions. Commissioners asked the applicant to work with staff on brick scale and coping details.
At 243 McDonough Street (Stuyvesant Heights Historic District) commissioners approved a 15‑foot deep, one‑story rear‑yard addition finished in red‑orange stucco, finding it consistent with other block additions and not visible from public ways.
At 4475 Waldo Avenue (Fieldston Historic District) the owners were permitted to replace windows with aluminum‑clad wood in a historically appropriate profile and green finish; commissioners said the material change would be imperceptible from public thoroughfares and noted staff-level oversight for trim and color.
All three motions passed unanimously (9–0).
