Adrianna Jordan of OHM presented the consortium's top priorities and proposed a DTW express route running on I‑275 to provide a faster airport connection for western Wayne County communities. "It was also the number 1 thing that was asked for by residents in the consortium communities based off of the extensive public outreach that we did," she said, summarizing public preferences.
Jordan outlined potential stops: a Northville carpool lot, a Plymouth Township stop (potentially near the new medical complex on Ann Arbor Road), a Canton stop (near a commercial site opposite IKEA), and stops at McNamara and the EVans Terminal at DTW. She also suggested D2A2 (Ann Arbor‑Detroit) runs could include a Sheldon Road exit stop on M‑14 to provide express access to Ann Arbor and Detroit for northern consortium communities.
Planners stressed these are suggested adjustments to SMART's broader plan and are subject to property‑owner discussions and SMART’s operational decisions. They reiterated that route and stop locations will be refined through implementation planning and coordination with SMART if the millage passes.
