Wake County honors Cheryl Hines and Donna Johnson for more than 30 years of service

The board paused its regular business to recognize two long‑service Wake County employees. County Manager David Ellis introduced Cheryl Hines, who has worked 30 years in roles including dispatcher and telecommunicator in the Wake County Sheriff's Office and previously in human services.
Ellis then introduced Donna Johnson, also retiring after more than 30 years; Johnson served as a review case manager, assessor and supervisor overseeing eligibility teams for economic services programs and participated in disaster relief and elderly meal programs. Chair Evans and fellow commissioners thanked both employees for their service.
