Steger board sets Halloween hours; OKs two-day liquor license for Oktoberfest

Trustees approved village Trick-or-Treat hours and granted a Special Event Liquor License to the American Legion for the two-day Oktoberfest on Halsted Blvd. Sept. 27–28.
Trustee Thurmond moved to set Halloween Trick-or-Treat hours from 2–6 p.m. in neighborhoods and 6–9 p.m. at Veteran’s Park; Trustee Trotier seconded and the motion carried by roll call. The board also approved a Special Event Liquor License for the American Legion to serve at Oktoberfest on Sept. 27–28 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day.
Mayor Joyce noted the festival will include a band (Phoenix Rising) and a Sunday chili cook-off hosted by Kiwanis; the village is accepting vendor applications. The minutes do not record conditions for the liquor license beyond the dates and times; standard permitting and event coordination obligations remain the responsibility of organizers and staff.
