At the Jan. 6 reorganization meeting, the Lopatcong Township Board of Education moved a package of reorganizational resolutions (R-132-26 through R-156-26) in a single roll-call process. The package included adoption of the New Jersey School Boards Association Code of Ethics (R-132-26), readoption of district policies and bylaws, and multiple administrative appointments and designations.
R-140-26 appointed Tina M. Palecek as School Business Administrator and Board Secretary (QPA), and named Cindy Hanics as Treasurer of School Monies. The resolution packet also designates AJ Parisi as Affirmative Action Officer, Israel Marmolejos as 504 Committee Coordinator and Superintendent, and assigns multiple safety and compliance responsibilities to Giovanni Feleppo (Right-to-Know officer; AHERA representative; safety coordinator). Several vendor/consultant appointments were listed, including Comegno Law Group as board attorney and Maschio’s Food Services, Inc. for food service management.
The board noted two items — Board Delegate Assignments (R-136-26) and several representative assignments (Phillipsburg BOE representative, PTA representative) — were TABLED until the Jan. 22, 2026 meeting. A roll call taken on the bundled motions recorded affirmative votes and the motions passed as recorded. The workshop portion of the meeting followed.
