Pamela Thomas was elected president of the Lopatcong Township Board of Education during the board’s Jan. 6, 2026 reorganization meeting following a paper-ballot vote. Board Secretary Tina M. Palecek conducted the balloting and announced, "The Nominee with the majority vote for Board of Education President is: Mrs. Pamela Thomas." The meeting was turned over to Thomas as the newly elected president.
Thomas nominated Judy Liptak for vice president; in a subsequent paper-ballot roll call the board announced Liptak as vice president. The session confirmed a quorum earlier in the meeting and then adjourned the reorganization portion at 6:57 p.m. to open the regularly scheduled workshop meeting.
The mission statement for the Lopatcong Township School District was read by Superintendent Israel Marmolejos during the meeting; among other items, the workshop agenda listed a mid-year budget review and a facility expansion update for future discussion. The board scheduled a calendar vote for its next regular meeting on Jan. 22, 2026 at 7:00 p.m.
