Council approves consent calendar; Yardi to replace Hometrec for property management

The City of Aspen approved a multi-item consent calendar that included several resolutions and contract actions. Among the items: security improvements on Wheeler node; electric circuit repair from Coke Park to City Market; purchase of Unit L at 209 Aspen Airport Business Center for employee housing funded from the City of Aspen Housing Fund; an updated wildfire mitigation policy; and an APHA Yardi contract to replace some Hometrec functions.
Matthew Gillen, identified in the meeting as the director overseeing the transition, told council that Hometrec will continue to be used for ownership-side processes such as the housing lottery and eligibility affidavits, while Yardi will be used for property-management services (rent collection, leasing and external-facing portals). Gillen described the change as revenue-neutral with a small annual savings. The consent calendar passed on a roll-call vote: Councilors Benedetti, Doyle, Guth, Rose and Mayor Mary Richards all voted Yes.
