Former DuPage election judge says county office violated election code and seeks review

Kathleen Gilroy, who identified herself as a former DuPage County election judge, told the board she and a colleague reported election-law violations to DuPage County and received no substantive response. "I'm I'm speaking to you today about the failure of the DuPage County Board of Elections to follow the Illinois election code," Gilroy said. She alleged three judges filed defamatory complaints against her, that no investigation provided her side of the story, and that she suffered monetary damages. Board members encouraged her to contact the county state's attorney; a staff member said the board would review her complaint.
Gilroy submitted her full complaint in writing and asked the board to purge records of what she described as malicious gossip and to discipline those responsible. Board members did not take immediate formal action beyond directing staff to review the submitted materials and recommending she consult the state's attorney's office.
