Staff gave short updates on several subdivision projects around Oak Harbor. Preston Heights is described as 36 single‑family lots, sited between Scenic Heights and Capitol Street and preserving a small wetland area as open space. Cedar Hill, in the northwest quadrant off Crosby, has utilities completed and roughly 12 homes finished so far, with additional homes still under construction. Ridgeway Heights is largely built; staff said three more lots will be developed once a temporary turnaround is removed and the street connects through to Oak Heights. Shawn Ridge is moving forward more slowly as staff and developers resolve utility and inspection issues.
"Preston Heights subdivision, which is 36 single family lots," staff noted. On connectivity, staff said the city is working to interconnect streets to support walking and biking rather than relying on major streets for local circulation. Wetland preservation and on‑site open space were highlighted as design elements for multiple projects.
Commissioners asked for continued updates as utilities are completed and as the Oak Heights connection enables additional lots in Ridgeway Heights. Staff said they will report progress in future project updates and that home construction is expected to begin in many places once infrastructure work finishes.
