Staff: no further work on Lift 1 projects until construction-sequencing agreements are signed

Bonnie told council the Lift 1 corridor projects are pursuing phased permits and that city staff are meeting regularly with project teams. She said prior voter-approved ordinances require construction-sequencing agreements that staff view as necessary, and that the city will not issue work beyond the agreed sequencing. "We will not be issuing any further work on this property until that sequencing agreement is executed," Bonnie said. Staff said they were anticipating issuing a first phase of the Lift 1 Lodge permit at the end of March with an anticipated on-site construction start in April, but they cautioned the timeline depends on finalizing sequencing agreements among project parties.
Council members asked staff to press for timely agreement so projects can take advantage of the building season; staff replied they will continue to work with applicants and that sequencing negotiations remain the gating issue.
