Steger board adopts ordinance regulating off‑road and non‑highway vehicles

The ordinance authorizes impoundment of non‑highway vehicles and allows the village to require payment by whoever is responsible to reclaim impounded vehicles; the mayor said parents may be held responsible for a child's actions under the new code.
Mayor Joyce said the ordinance will be printed in pamphlet form, posted in a local newspaper and, after being in the public for 10 days, will take effect. The board recorded unanimous support from the trustees present (Hanus, Kaminski, Stewart, Thurmond and Trotier).
