Mayor summarizes city finances; Coffee with the Mayor set for July 8

Mayor Sue McNamara provided the Board with a financial snapshot during the July 7 meeting. She reported the city's total portfolio value at $2,009,223, cash in the money market at $212,767, income earned during the current year (01/01/26–06/30/26) of $33,960, income earned during the fiscal year (07/01/25–06/30/26) of $73,550, and court revenue of $4,218.38.
McNamara also announced that 'Coffee with the Mayor' would be held the following morning at 9:00 a.m. Alderman Jeff Schweig noted that if a tree is brought down by an act of God and falls on a neighbor's house, the homeowner whose house the tree fell on is responsible for removal unless the city previously notified the property owner where the tree originated that it needed to be removed. The clarification was given to explain existing notification procedures and liability expectations after recent storm damage.
