Evan, co‑chair of the airport multimodal task force, told council members the ZGF conceptual report sections on the ground transportation center, parking and circulation are under review and that the task forces concluded a conceptual design approved by the advisory board and BOCC. He urged council members to raise multimodal preferences with BOCC colleagues at a Feb. 9 joint meeting.
Discussion among councilors and Evan covered possible modes — light rail, gondolas, bus rapid transit, micro‑transit and automated shuttles — with Evan cautioning that "light rail is prohibitively expensive" in early stages and suggesting bus rapid transit and micro‑transit optimization as practical near‑term alternatives. Council members agreed to explore coordinated approaches and flagged the need to revisit Highway 82 access and frontage‑road concepts in coordination with CDOT and county counterparts.
